(More customer reviews)My original canopy ripped in less than five months. Its replacement (free from Lowes, after haggling) lasted less than a year. This one seems to be of thicker vinyl than the originals, so I have high hopes for it. Already, it's endured several high March winds with no damage. One trick I've learned for prolonging the life of these things is to NOT use the straps that hold the canopy to the frame. The straps are positioned in vulnerable spots (no reinforcement, like on the corners) in the roof/ceiling and create too much resistance in high wind. Sure, the canopy might come loose, but it will not be as likely to rip. My only complaint with this new one is that the inside corners of the top vent piece need better reinforcement--the steel rod poked through one during installation. This was easily fixed with a needle and nylon thread, then reinforced with duct tape. All in all, I see this as a huge improvement and have high hopes for it. And delivery was fast, several days before it was expected.
