(More customer reviews)I have had this tent for several years. I obtained this on clearance when a local store was shutting its doors. I have used this on several occasions 3-4 times a years and this year bought another one. First of all you have to follow the instructions completed inorder for the tent to be set up without alot of hassel. I have done this by myself on several occassions. The cords are used not to strengthen the tent but to assist with assembly. The poles are about 2 feet in length so there are 6 poles linked together with the string for the width. There are then 4 sets of poles each 5 poles long 2 for each length. From the corners come smaller poles to the center in order to run the long center pole with supporting poles to support the canopy.
This is a very secure tent - this summer it survived 50 MPH winds but the next day i succumed to 60 mph winds. A few poles bent and the tent collapsed. I called the 800 number and ordered a few new poles and they were shipped out the next day. At that time I also ordered a new tent from the manufactures website. The previous review mentions the cords coming out but again those are just to keep the 5 / 6 poles together for ease of assembly. they can be reinserted into the pole with a pair of pliers. [...]
