I just had to give my $.02 on this product. I will admit that these are generally cheap and not the quality of an EZ-UP or maybe some other brands, but I don't get how people give this such bad reviews??? The supports broke when you first set it up? Well you did something wrong!!!! I have had three Quik Shade canopies, one that is over six years old and beat to death, I gave it to my friend and he still uses it, but this review is for this particular canopy. I have had it for over a year now, I take it to the desert and have taken it to soccer games almost every weekend during the season. Nothing is wrong with it, no bent supports, no torn canopy, nothing!!!! The only thing is the bag that is starting to tear, it could be a little bigger to allow for easier zipping of the zipper.
My only suggestion, which may be why mine has no problems, is undo each corner of the canopy when you "stretch" the top. If you leave the top velcroed while putting it up, I can see things breaking. I have put this up by myself dozens and dozens of times and I have no problems. I have had mine in the desert through some pretty good wind and the key is to attach it a fixed object, I attach one side to my truck and one to my trailer, that way nothing breaks. And be smart about it, if the wind really picks up, take it down, it's so simple, it will take less than a minute!!!
I guess I can see bad reviews for this if you paid full price, I was lucky to come across these at $50 each, if you get them for that price and learn how to set them up properly, then they are worth every penny.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I have an "expensive" EZ-UP as well, it stays in it's bag in my garage, for one, it's too heavy to lug to soccer games with no wheels on the bag and second and most important, the material used does not block the sun as well as this one does. Whatever canopy you buy, get one with the coating on the bottom of the canopy, it makes a huge difference in blocking the sun!!!
